Latest Remote Sensing Technology, including 3D Laser Scanning and UAV (Unmanned
Aerial Vehicle) photogrammetry methods, has been broadly used in different
aspects. They can nowadays be used for site inspection, progress photo, mobile
mapping, topographic survey and volumetric calculation, project management,
etc. The survey result could be integrated into several modelling platforms
(such as CAD, GIS and BIM) for further application. Operation and processing
time of these land surveying approaches would be greatly reduced comparing to
traditional surveying methods. Construction professional, such as Building
Services Profession, would be benefited from their user-friendly, time-saving
and cost-effective performance.
Mr LAM has used these technologies in many construction projects, in order to
accelerate the pace of engineering surveying and enrich the whole building
field. He would share experience of using remote sensing in various projects,
and how they enhanced the effectiveness of project management.

He works in the engineering surveying profession for many significant
infrastructure projects, including Hong Kong International Airport, West Rail
Project, Hong Kong-Shen Zhen Western Corridor, Venetian Orient Cotai Parcel
5&6 (Macao), Express Rail Link (XRL), CEDD Liantang C3 project, MTR Kwun
Tong Line Extension (Whampoa Station and overrun tunnel), etc.
Mr LAM is also the Chairman of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineering
Surveyors (HKIES) since 2008, and Council Member of Land Surveying Division of
The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) since 2014. He has a particular
interest in emergent surveying technologies and their potential for the
construction sector. Mr LAM has been invited by many professional organizations
as speaker for relevant issues.
