Technical Seminar on Costing of Green Building Projects Worldwide: Does Green Cost More?

Date, time & venue

2018-12-20;6:30pm (Registration) 6:45pm - 8:00pm;Chan Yat Mei Sophie Room – 9/F

This seminar is jointly organised by the BSD and the CAI

Programme Highlight:

Sustainability is an inevitable trend.  However, the number of green building developments is still limited.  Previous studies have attributed this to the perception of “Green costs more” as presented by quantity surveyors to construction clients.  It is argued that the commonly adopted figure of 5-15% as the extra cost for green has ‘seriously’ overestimated capital cost.  In this seminar, we shall discuss the paradox of green building cost, covering the costing of building services in green buildings in particular.
